With its 1600 hectares of specialized vineyards, 85% of which reserved for white grape vines and the rest for red grape vines, the Collio is one of the most renowned and recognized areas of wine production at an international level. A viticulture developed mainly in the hills, where the climate is milder. From it come 13 white grape varieties and 5 red ones.Among the white ones excel the Friulano, the Malvasia Istriana and the Ribolla Gialla. The most known red wines are the Merlot, the Cabernet Franc, the Cabernet Sauvignon and the Pinot Noir. The limited quantities and the winemaking processes that see modern technologies married with tradition, are the reasons behind the high quality of the product and of the surrounding countryside.
